What's the difference between MERV ratings and HEPA?
MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) rates filters from 1–20. Standard furnace filters are MERV 1–4. Media air cleaners are typically MERV 11–16. True HEPA is essentially MERV 17+ and captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns. Our technicians will recommend the right level for your home and system.
Will a high-efficiency filter restrict airflow and damage my furnace?
Not when properly sized and installed. Media air cleaners and HEPA bypass systems are specifically designed to deliver superior filtration without restricting airflow. Our technicians calculate the right solution for your ductwork and furnace capacity. Never just swap in a high-MERV filter without professional assessment.
How often do the filters need to be replaced?
Media air cleaner filters typically last 12 months. Electronic air cleaner cells are washable and last for years. HEPA bypass filters are replaced annually. We'll set up a reminder schedule and can include filter changes in a maintenance plan.
Can air purification help with pet odours and cooking smells?
